Ride the Train at the Little Rock Zoo
The Arkansas Diamond Express Train, a cherished attraction at the Little Rock Zoo, has been delighting visitors since its debut in 2014. Thanks to the dedicated fundraising efforts of the Arkansas Zoological Foundation, the train tracks around the zoo were revamped to accommodate this charming addition.
The Diamond Express Train is a replica of an 1863 locomotive, specifically a C.P. Huntington™ Train, designed to scale. Its vintage aesthetic adds to the allure, providing riders with a nostalgic journey through the zoo grounds. Loved by guests of all ages, the train offers a memorable experience as it chugs along, offering glimpses of the zoo's various exhibits and attractions. Whether it's families enjoying a leisurely ride or enthusiasts admiring the craftsmanship of the train, the Arkansas Diamond Express remains a beloved highlight of the Little Rock Zoo experience.
The Arkansas Diamond Express Train operates seasonally, providing enchanting rides for $3 per person as it traverses the picturesque surroundings of the Little Rock Zoo. From March to November, the train runs seven days a week, from 10 AM to 4 PM, allowing guests ample opportunity to enjoy its scenic route and explore the zoo's offerings. As November approaches, the train transitions to winter hours, operating exclusively from Thursday to Sunday, still from 10 AM to 4 PM. Whether it's a sunny spring day or a crisp autumn afternoon, the train remains a cherished attraction, adding an extra layer of excitement to any visit to the Little Rock Zoo.
