International Cheetah Day

DEC 4, 2026

Celebrate International Cheetah Day at the Zoo!

Cheetahs play a vital role in their ecosystems as predators that keep prey species on the move, which helps prevent overgrazing. However, cheetahs face numerous threats, including habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and a limited genetic pool. Visit the Zoo to learn how we can all contribute to their conservation!

Fun Fact: Cheetahs have black tear marks to help block the sun when hunting in daylight, similar to a football player’s eye black.

Schedule of Activities

10:00- 12:00 Educational table with activities at the Cheetah Outpost
