Give Your Old Lights a Wild New Purpose!

Turn your old holiday lights into a brighter future for lions! From November 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027, bring used string lights and extension cords—in any condition—to the collection box near the Zoo’s front gate. Zoo admission is not required to drop off your lights.

For large donations, please call 501-371-4589 to schedule a drop-off.

Ornaments
Wire light displays
Lawn décor (such as deer)
Plastic stakes

How Does Recycling Lights Help Lions?

The Little Rock Zoo partners with TRG in North Little Rock to recycle the collected lights and recover valuable materials, including copper. Proceeds from the recycled materials benefit the Lion Recovery Fund, a global conservation initiative working to help recover wild lion populations across Africa.
