Dragons have a day of their own—at least the Komodo kind!
We’re celebrating Appreciate a Dragon Day—Komodo style! Come learn about the world’s largest lizards, see how much Iroh and Tia have grown, and discover why Komodo dragons deserve their own special day.
Fun Fact: Baby Komodo dragons live in trees to avoid being eaten by the adults, who are known to be cannibalistic.
Dragons, along with other lizards and reptiles, provide many benefits to their ecosystems, including seed dispersal and pollination, nutrient recycling, and pest control. Many species are faced with threats like habitat loss and over-collection for the pet trade. Visit the Zoo to learn more!
