Be Part of the Capybara Comeback!

Meet the Capybara (Cap-ee-BAR-ah)
They’re back! The world’s largest and friendliest rodents are returning to the Little Rock Zoo with an all-new habitat as part of Project Zoo.
Capybara’s once called our Zoo home, and now they’re making their grand return-bringing big energy and even bigger smiles.
Conservation in Color
To celebrate, we’ve partnered with the world-renowned Cracking Art Collective, known for their vibrant animal sculptures made entirely from regenerated plastic. Over a dozen of these custom-made capybara sculptures can now be spotted around the Zoo! They’re always up to something a little different—so even if you’ve seen them before, you haven’t seen them like this. Explore the Zoo, snap a few photos, and see what surprises you discover this time around.
Adopt a Capybara!
Help bring capybaras back to the Little Rock Zoo while leaving a lasting legacy.
A limited number of sculptures remain available for sponsorship. Each $5,000 sponsorship directly supports the construction of the Zoo’s new capybara habitat and other exciting improvements at the Zoo’s entrance.
As a capybara adopter, you’ll receive:
- Recognition at the new capybara exhibit
- Invitations to exclusive preview events
- Invitations to grand opening celebrations for the Zoo’s newest exhibits
- The opportunity to play a lasting role in bringing this highly anticipated exhibit back to the Little Rock Zoo
Whether you choose to adopt a sculpture or simply enjoy the colorful capybara experience, we hope you’ll visit the Zoo and celebrate this exciting new chapter with us.
Thank you for helping us create a brighter future for wildlife and our community.
