The Little Rock Zoo is embarking on an exciting journey to reimagine the future of wildlife, conservation, and connection in the heart of Arkansas. Guided by our Master Plan, we’re building a Zoo that inspires wonder, brings people closer to the natural world, and creates unforgettable experiences for generations to come.

Our vision goes beyond new habitats and attractions. It’s about transforming the way guests experience the Zoo through immersive environments, innovative animal care facilities, engaging educational opportunities, and meaningful connections with wildlife. Every improvement brings us closer to creating a world-class destination where animals thrive, conservation comes to life, and curiosity inspires action.

Approved by the Zoo Board of Governors, the Master Plan was developed through a partnership between the Little Rock Zoo, Jackson Brown Palculict Architects, and GLMVZoos. Designed to guide the Zoo’s growth and development over the next 10–20 years, the plan outlines future renovations, expanded habitats, facility improvements, and exciting new experiences that support our mission to inspire people to value and conserve the natural world.

That vision is already becoming a reality through Project Zoo: Wildly Reimagined, a project aimed at bringing new animal habitats, enhanced guest experiences, and revitalized spaces at the Little Rock Zoo’s entrance. Anticipated to open in spring 2027, this exciting project marks the beginning of a new era for the Zoo, with even more possibilities on the horizon.

As a living document, our Master Plan will continue to evolve alongside the needs of our animals, guests, and community. Each new chapter represents another step toward a brighter future for wildlife and the generations who will be inspired to protect it.
