Celebrate Earth Day at the Zoo!
Earth Day is a reminder that protecting our planet starts with everyday choices. Simple actions like planting native plants, reducing single-use plastics, and conserving water can make a real difference for wildlife. Visit the Zoo to see how these actions support animals and habitats both locally and globally, and to learn about more conservation projects you can be involved in!
Fun Fact: Your old cell phone can help protect wildlife! Phones contain a mineral called coltan, which is mined in parts of Africa—often in areas that overlap with critical habitats for Endangered species like gorillas.
Recycling your old cell phone helps reduce the demand for mining and supports the protection of these habitats.
The good news? You can make a difference.
Bring your old phones and recycle them at the Little Rock Zoo!Drop off your items at the collection box located in the Zoo’s front entry plaza. Donations are accepted year-round!
