Join us for our annual Beloved Pet Ofrenda, a heartfelt tribute honoring the memory of our cherished animal companions. Inspired by the Día de Muertos tradition, this vibrant community altar celebrates our animal companions of all kinds—furry, feathered, and scaled.
The Beloved Pet Ofrenda will be open in the Nature Playground during regular Zoo hours from October 16–31.
Guests are invited to bring a photo, drawing, or written message honoring a beloved pet and add it to the altar. Together, we’ll create a beautiful community space filled with memories and love for the animals we’ll always carry with us.
Schedule of Activities
Zoo staff will be at the ofrenda to help guests add their tributes, share more about the meaning and traditions represented in the display, and offer special activities connecting animals, nature, and remembrance.
Fridays & Saturdays | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Sundays | 12:00–2:00 PM
No staff needed to participate! Guests are welcome to visit the ofrenda and add a tribute anytime during regular Zoo hours, October 16–31.
