Get up close with African penguins, learn about each penguin’s unique personality, hear their individual stories, and discover how the Zoo is helping protect this species in the wild. With two behind-the-scenes experience options to choose from, it’s a memorable way to connect with these charismatic birds and share an unforgettable moment with friends and family.

Experience Options

Penguin Tour – $100 per person

Join keepers for a guided tour of Penguin Pointe and learn all about our penguins!

Paint with a Penguin – $150 per person

Select your colors, and our penguins will create a custom painting just for you! Limit: One painting per group

Details

Each experience lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Includes all-day Zoo admission, so you can explore before and after your experience.
Available to guests ages 8 and up. Participants under 12 must be registered with a participating adult.
Limited to six (6) guests per experience; only one family or group is booked per date.
Closed-toed shoes are required for safety.
Behind-the-scenes access depends on penguin behavior and nesting.

Photography Policy

This experience includes exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas of the Zoo! Photos are not permitted to be taken by guests during the experience in this area, unless otherwise indicated by staff. Designated photo opportunities will be provided, and staff will be happy to assist with group photos. Guests must bring their own camera or phone.
