Little Rock Zoo Resolves Hoax Threat

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 19, 2026) –  The Little Rock Zoo received a non-credible bomb threat shortly after opening at 9:33AM on Friday morning. The Zoo immediately enacted its bomb threat protocol that includes calling emergency services, setting a perimeter, and initiating a search of the property.

The threat was found to be non-credible and was quickly resolved. The Zoo resumed normal operations shortly thereafter. Little Rock Police remain onsite out of an abundance of caution. The Zoo believes that threat is part of a growing national trend of hoax, non-credible bomb threats and “swatting” incidents targeted at zoos and aquariums across the United States. However, any threat is treated as real. The Zoo worked in collaboration with the Little Rock Police Department and the Little Rock Fire Department Bomb Squad to investigate and resolve the matter thoroughly and efficiently.
