Tails and Tunes- September 30 date cancelled due to rain forecast

Dates: 9/2/2021 - 9/30/2021
Times: Each Thursday night in September

The whole family will enjoy this late night Zoo experience. Visit all of your favorite animals until 7:30pm and end it shaking your tail at the Civitan Elephant Stage. The Tails and Tunes summer late night experience will feature unique weekly live entertainment, specialty food vendors, and for the adults, beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Regular Zoo admission  prices and parking fees are required.

Zoo members may enjoy this event at no additional cost.


Zoo hours: 9:00am -9:00pm every Thursday of September: (September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2021)

Special Tails and Tunes activities:

5:00 pm Specialty Food vendors will begin to serve

5:00 pm Scatter feed for gorilla family group

5:30 pm Penguins—Keeper Chat

5:45 pm Colobus / Guenon -  Keeper Chat

6:00 pm Live Music Begins—Elephant Stage

6:00pm Orangutan Keeper Talk- at training window

6:00pm Elephant Chat

6:30 pm Alligator Chat

7:00 pm Serval Cat demonstration

7:30 pm Animals go in for the night

7:30—8:30 pm Meet and Greets with Zoo animal ambassadors at the Civitan Amphitheater

Yard games and other interactive activities available for the whole family. 

Adult beverage available throughout the evening. 


September 2, 2021 – Cliff Prowse and Susan Erwin Prowse

Cliff & Susan are a married international touring duo armed with a piano, fiddle, and guitar based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their high energy, all-request, interactive show keeps crowds entertained for 4+ hours in venues worldwide. With over 1,000 songs in their arsenal, they bring a great mix of Country, Blues, Rock, Pop and Oldies to crowds of all ages.

September 9, 2021 – The Rodney Block Collective

The Rodney Block Collective, a quartet comprised of lead trumpet, piano, bass, and drums, with extra vocalist as needed led by Rodney Block, celebrated Arkansan musician.  Let this Little Rock favorite carry you away with a night of pure fun!

September 16, 2021 – Tawanna Campbell 

Local artist Ms. Campbell states, "I am a native of Little Rock, Arkansas! I am an elementary school teacher. I love teaching but my passion is singing and acting! I have a band and when I’m not teaching I am performing in and around the state."  Come see Ms. Campbell perform and mesmerize you with her amazing gift! 

September 23, 2021 – Christine DeMeo

Christine DeMeo is an Arkansas native who sings, song writes and entertains.  Her music has flares from several musical styles.  Voted as one of the top local three performers by Hot Springs Sentinel Records readers in 2019, 2020, and 2021, her style incorporates genres spanning several decades including funk, R&B, country, pop, rock, and original.  Join us and let Ms. DeMeo make you a new fan!

September 30, 2021 – The Juice Duo

(The Juice Duo aka Juice From Concentrate) of vocalist and guitarist Jim Goza and drummer Travis Smith. The duo bring dance-worthy grooves and electronic drums, looping guitars and beatboxing, with the weight of a full band in a smaller package. The setlist is eclectic and full of crowd favorites, mixed with a healthy dose of comedy. Come dance, laugh, and sing-along as these two make the night funny, fun, and memorable!
