The Little Rock Zoo is joining the Gorillas on the Line campaign again this year! We will collect used electronic devices (cell phones, smartphones, iPhones, iPods, iPads, tablets, Apple watches, adapters, chargers, MP3 players, handheld gaming systems and their accessories) from April 1 – April 30.
Gorillas on the Line...Answer the Call is a global mobile phone recycling challenge. Coltan is a critical component of cell phones and other small electronics and is mined in the forests of the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo-right in the middle of gorilla habitat. As a result of mining for coltan, critical habitat has been destroyed and gorillas have been displaced or even killed by poachers. Recycling old cell phones helps reduce the demand for coltan and protects gorilla habitat in Africa.
Drop your items off at the front gate of the Zoo with one of our Guest Services Associates or at the collection box at the top of Great Apes.
Join us in answering the call to help these precious animals!
