Your Trip to the Little Rock Zoo

TIPS FOR A TERRIFIC TRIP TO THE ZOO

Best Times
During the spring, the zoo is the wildest place to be, with many visitors.
On many Thursdays and Fridays, the zoo will host hundreds of school children.
If you prefer a time that is less crowded, consider visiting on a Monday or a Tuesday or any day in the afternoon. Additionally, the zoo is less crowded the remainder of the year. Fall is an excellent time to visit!

Chaperones
Include your chaperones in planning your trip. Knowledgeable parents are invaluable to an enjoyable visit.
One adult chaperone is required for every 10 students in any grade.
We ask that chaperones remain with their students for the entire Zoo visit. The Little Rock Zoo SPEED LIMIT is 'WALK" for all visitors.

Please Be Aware!
The Little Rock Zoo is home to over 725 animals. Please treat them as you would treat guests to your home.
Many animals react badly to loud noises and things being thrown at them. Visitors should refrain from teasing, yelling, screaming, or throwing things at the animals.
The Little Rock Zoo has a "NO FEEDING" policy (except for the animals in the Children's Farm). All our animals are on special diets designed specifically for them. Please help keep our animals healthy and their homes clean.
The Zoo allows many of its semi-domestic birds to range freely on the Zoo grounds. Remind students not to chase them. They may become aggressive, especially if they have chicks or ducklings with them.
For your safety, please do NOT climb on or cross guardrails.

Information
Please take advantage of the informational graphics at each exhibit.

Lunch
Seating at the Safari Terrace (inside and outside) is reserved for patrons of the cafe only.
The Safari Terrace can provide sack lunches for groups. Details will arrive with your field trip confirmation letter. If you would like lunches ready when you arrive, please give at least 10 days notice. Phone (501) 666-2406

Gift Shop
The Safari Trader Gift Shop will be happy to order souvenirs in advance for your group. Please phone (501) 666-2406 to place your order. Souvenirs will be ready for you to pick up at the end of your visit. You can also visit our online gift shop.
We ask that one adult accompany each five students in the Safari Trader Gift Shop.
Due to its small size, a maximum of 20 students are allowed inside at any one time.

The Zoo Train operates on a daily basis, weather permitting.
The fee for individual riders is $2.00 and group ticket purchases for a group of 15 or more people are $1.00. All tickets must be purchased at one time to receive the group rate. Other ride tickets available at the zoo in the gift shop.
