Porcupines Shoot Their Quills Porcupines do not shoot their quills. If the porcupine is bothered the quills stand on end and can get stuck into its enemy. Porcupines use their quills to protect themselves.
Camels Store Water In Their Humps A camel’s hump does not hold water; it stores fat. This fat is used for energy when a camel does not get enough food. A camel can go a long time without water because of itswooly coat. The wooly coat keeps the camel from sweating and losing water quickly.
Gorillas Are Called The Gentle Giants Gorillas are called the gentle giants. They are so big but not aggressive like many movies and stories make them out to be. Gorilla displays, like chest beating and charging, rarely hurt anyone. These displays are usually performed to scare someone. Gorillas are also vegetarians.
You Can Tell How Old a Rattlesnake Is By Its Rattle The rattle of the rattlesnake cannot tell us the snake’s age. Rattlesnakes add a segment to their rattle each time they shed. They can shed from 1 to 5 times a year. How many times they shed depends upon the snake's health and age.
A Toad Can Give You Warts

A toad cannot give you warts. The warts on the toad's skin are poison glands. These glands protect it from predators.

A Chameleon Can Change Color To Match Its Background

The Chameleon’s color changes are influenced by the lizard’s health, mood, sex or age, as well as, the temperature and light intensity of its surroundings.
