L'OREAL U.S.A.

The Little Rock Zoo would like to say Thank You to L’Oreal U.S.A. for their volunteer service.

L’Oreal U.S.A. sent nearly ninety volunteers; totaling 440 hours of service. These volunteers, organized by Chris Glover and Amy Gardner, braved the weather and helped with a number of labor-intensive projects including painting railings, cleaning the reptile house, washing garbage bins, cleaning windows, weeding plant beds, spreading mulch, scrubbing playground equipment and leveling ground. Though these jobs are far from glamorous, they were performed in good cheer, and their completion did much to improve the overall appearance of the Zoo.

Acting as representatives, our two elephants, Mary and Ellen, expressed the Little Rock Zoo’s gratitude in an up-close meet-and-greet!

The Zoo was one of ten sites chosen for L’Oreal’s service day, and we are proud to have been a part of this highly successful event.

Rock Creek and St. Mark's Churches

On October 2, 2010, Rock Cree Church and St. Mark's Church will return for another day of service at the Little Rock Zoo.  They will be painting rails, planting shrubs, repairing fences, spreading mulch, weed-eating/edging and cleaning.  The Little Rock Zoo is so appreciative of their care and community participation!  Thank You Volunteers!
