 Primates

Tammy, one of our female gorillas, had a hysterectomy (due to uterine cancer) by a team of specialists from around the state. Her ovaries were transferred to an Omaha Zoo to harvest the eggs to be used for invitro fertilization. Six eggs were retrieved to help in the study of gorillas. Unfortunately, we lost Tammy anyway. She died on November 26, 2000 to complications caused by the uterine cancer. She is sorely missed by Rocky, her companion, and all of us.

We have two of the oldest gorillas and two of the oldest chimpanzees in the United States
